After nearly four years away from accepting invites to speaking engagements, media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo has made a return, on his own terms. His first public ministry engagement in years took place at The King’s Assembly in Port Harcourt for the annual Reinvent Conference, where he addressed one of the largest congregations in the city.

“My favorite stages to speak have always been churches,” Jideonwo said, recalling past engagements at RCCG’s Redemption Camp, Foursquare Church, This Present House, Covenant Christian Centre, TREM, and his home church, Daystar Christian Centre. “But when I stopped saying yes to speaking engagements in 2021, I missed these the most. Still, I thought it was necessary.”

That decision, he explained, was deeply personal. “My faith is intensely personal, and in a deeply religious country, it can be easy to slip into performance. Private communion became more important to me than public fellowship.”

Now, he says, the time is right.

At The King’s Assembly, Jideonwo spoke about resilience, faith, and the ability to stand firm regardless of circumstances. “There is a spirit in man,” he told the congregation, “that in spite of what is going on around you, can still be of good cheer.”

Faith, he explained, is not about external conditions but an inner conviction. “The overcoming the world is not bank money in my account but an understanding that no matter what is going on, I’ll be fine.” Drawing from scripture, he added, “Like the Apostle Paul says, whether in need or in abundance, I’ve learned to abound.”

Jideonwo closed with a familiar declaration: “He that’s in you is greater than IT that’s in the world.”

For him, the night was more than just a speaking engagement—it was a moment of reconnection. “Pastor Chris Ugoh has become one of my favorite people in the world,” he said. “And I was deeply honored by the standing ovation at the end of my message.”
